It was an honour to host BC's longest running Bluegrass band, 5 ON A STRING, for a summer house concert! 5 on a String has been picking and singing bluegrass music all around the Pacific Northwest for over twenty-five years. We had the joy and honour of being Vivian and Riley's first stop on a Canadian tour just after their participation in the Folk Alliance International conference in Kansas City. Vivian and Riley tap into the deepest parts of American music, taking old songs that have seldom been heard and presenting them next to their own timeless and visceral originals. When they are not performing as duo, they’re often found sitting knee to knee, playing under the canopy of trees at fiddle festivals across the country, such as the gathering where they met in June of 2016.
